Membership
We have three (3) classes of membership in accordance with our Bylaws Article III. Please feel free to review the requirements of each class and fill out the appropriate membership application. All membership are also afforded certain rights and must oay dues. Those relevant bylaws are listed first so they are easy to find.
Section 2. Rights of All Membership Classes
All duly registered members may have the rights to be heard by the Privy Council, the guild membership at all membership meetings, to confidentially redress the guild leadership in the event of an issue.
Section 3. Annual Dues
The amount required for annual dues shall be at least $100 each year for Adult Membership, at least $50 for Teen Membership and at least $25 for Child Memberships, unless changed by a majority vote of the members at a meeting of the full membership. Continued membership is contingent upon being up-to-date on membership dues. Dues may be paid at events throughout the year, as long as they are completed through 1 full calendar cycle. Dues may be paid by in-kind donations. In kind donations acceptance is contingent on approval by the council and in accordance to the donation guidelines. The Council may elect to establish a hardship waiver program. Dues for new members shall be prorated on a monthly basis (12) from the date of application.
a. Adult Membership
Application for Adult Membership shall be open to any person eighteen (18) years of age or older regardless of gender identity, citizenship, national origin, race or sexual orientation that supports the purpose statement in Article II, Section 2. Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and annual dues. This class of membership shall have a full vote and say in guild business including standing for elections.
b. Teen Membership
Application for Teen Membership shall be open to any person between the age of thirteen (13) and who has not yet reached eighteen (18) years of age or older regardless of gender identity, citizenship, national origin, race or sexual orientation that supports the purpose statement in Article II, Section 2. Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and annual dues. This class of membership must have at least one (1) parent, legal guardian or responsible Adult member on site at all times. This class shall have full voting rights in guild business and may stand for election except for the offices of President and Clerk of the Privy Council.
c. Child Membership
Application for Child Membership shall be open to any person under thirteen (13) years of age regardless of gender identity, citizenship, national origin, race or sexual orientation that supports the purpose statement in Article II, Section 2. Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and annual dues. This class of membership must have at least one (1) parent, legal guardian or responsible Adult member on site at all times. This class shall NOT have full voting rights in guild business and may NOT stand for election.
d. Family Membership
Application for Family Membership shall be open to any group of three (3) or more people who live together- one of which must be atleast eighteen (18) years of age regardless of gender identity, citizenship, national origin, race or sexual orientation that supports the purpose statement in Article II, Section 2. Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and annual dues. This class of membership will have discounted dues and made up of any combination of the above memberships with at least one (1) adult member. The council shall set the appropriate dues rate after receipt of application.
A note on the Exclusions in Some Memberships Above
Due to the legal status of the Organization the President and Clerk of the Privy Council must be over the Age of 18- thus mandating the age requirement. As well, due to the amount of work and time that must be put into a Council position, those under 13 are not able to run for office or vote. They do however, have all other membership rights including speaking before the entirety of the Guild.
